Bass fishing
is fair and in the morning I would fish steep rock banks with
a Pop R or a Bonnie 95 in a shad color. As the sun starts to
rise, find any shade and you can pick up a few extra top water
fish. Mid morning and throughout the day, you can fish docks
with a Shaky Head or a Slider Head. Use a 4 Oxblood color Robo
Worm or a 4 Shaky Worm in a shad color. Another option would
be to fish points with a deep running crank bait. Fish a DD22
in Tropical Shad or a Mann’s 20+ in Chartreuse Root beer
color. You can fish a Deep Little N or 300 Bandit, as well. In
the evening, fishing around brush seems to be the best bet. Throw
a Texas Rig Zoom Mag II or a 3/8 oz. Davis Paca Jig. Any colors
such as watermelon or green pumpkin are working. Fish slowly
and thoroughly to get bites. After dark fish around any rocky
banks with a Wobblehead spinnerbait or a midnight blue Norman
Deep Little N. Fish parallel to these banks. If the crank bait
or spinnerbait will not produce, you will have to commit to fishing
slowly with the worm or a jig.

Line
side fishing is excellent. They’re on a summer bite and
fish the mouth of Kellogg Creek where the river channel meets
the creek channel is loaded with fish. Other locations with fish
include the mouth of Illinois Creek, the ledge out from Bartow
Carver beach. If you live on the south end, the mouth of Clark
and Tanyard where they come together is loaded with fish. There
is also a Great bite around the island south of the bridge. The
average daily catch right now is absolutely insane. Set the down
lines at 24 feet and it is a carbon copy every morning. I’m
using threadfin and gizzard shad, but they die really quick so
carry some shiners. On the umbrella rigs, troll them 100 feet
back at 3.1 to 3.4 mph. Troll the mouths of the creeks. Jigging
spoons will get you bit, too. The bite right now is the best
I have seen all year. Give me a call at 770 827-6282 to book
