LAKE
CLARKS HILL IS DOWN 3.5 FEET, 51 DEGREES AND STAINED
Bass fishing is getting better and the water temperature is climbing
into the 50's by late afternoon. Blue back herring are getting
active now and anglers are already using the XR10 X-Raps in the
glass ghost and olive green colors. These baits seem to be working
on the small flats and main lake wind blown points. Also, Tom Hall
said do not forget the 1/2 ounce white Strike King spinner bait
along those small rocky bottoms. Fish it around any and all lay
downs in the rivers and creeks. Up in Little River use a crank
bait and a Rapala DT6 in hot mustard and brown bone colors will
get action. Also take along a 3/8 ounce jig and pick apart the
brush piles. Rat L traps are just now starting to catch a few bass
and expect this bait to really pick up over the next few weeks.
The best feeding time this weekend will occur between 1:30 p.m.
and 3:10 p.m. Allow a thirty minute lead way on both sides. Weather
and fronts can also affect any and all feeding times. The Fish
and Game Forecaster has good feeding periods from 10am until 1pm
Saturday and 11am until 2 pm Sunday. Get your own copy from our
web site. There is a bass tournament for the American Cancer Society
on May 15 2010 at Wildwood Park at Clarks Hill. Call John Boy Long,
