LAKE
HARTWELL IS FULL, 62 DEGREES, CLEAR BY TIM WHITE - RAPALA
PRO 2STAFF
Bass fishing is fair. Ida came and now is gone leaving behind plenty of water.
The feeder creeks up in the Tugaloo River like Eastanollee Creek and Oggs Creek
came over their banks and dumped a lot of muddy water into the lake. At least
five inches of rain fell in the Poplar Springs area. All of this rain kept boaters
off of the water last week. Bright sunshine and warmer days are predicted for
this weekend, but the water will still have some color to it. Lake levels rose
so this will be a good time to use a 3/8 to 1/2 ounce Terminator spinnerbait
and fish up close along the rocks and boat docks. You can also try a shallow
to medium diving crank bait in hot mustard or a black and silver combination
and a DT-6 will work. Also a noise making bait like a lipless crank bait will
also be a good choice.
