First let me say that it feels great to be back on the water. My boat went into the shop on 6-7-2008 and I just got it back this week. For the 1st day back Daniel (my youngest) and I had a good-un! We caught-hung-lost-had our lines broke on more than 20 today fishing a pattern that paid off for me last summer. We only fished 5 hours until it got hot-by then we both were ready to go. Some of these fish were suspended over 50 feet of water or more-none less than 35 feet. It was great to see Daniel have so much fun-does my heart good. More to come next week.

I fished  Tim's today with Ed and Morgan Evans. This was a 13th birthday present for Morgan and we had a good time together. But now are you ready for a woe-is-me story? As I stated in my posts from the past 2 days it had been tough (at least for me) on Tim's. That is up until today-well let me explain.  I couldn't put any real pattern together Wednesday and Thursday-the fish we caught were good but they were just 1 here and 1 there. I went back in my notes last night 4 years and found a notation or two about a stretch in June of that year that sounded just like this week. I checked out the pattern from 4 years ago and yes it worked today.....now the only problem is that we couldn't put them in the boat. Ed and I both lost several Smallmouth and Largemouth much larger than what we have pictured. Morgan had 2 or 3 big Smallmouth just miss here bait at the boat-so close you could have just netted them. It was good to get them figured out but aggravating not putting them in the boat......Prowler Soft Shad all the way www.prowlerlures.com I can just here someone now saying...that's why they call it fishing and not catching.

It has been a very tough two day's for me on Tim's this week. A high pressure system is setting directly on top of us so the bite was slow and you had to work for everything you got.  Pictured above are some of the fish that I caught with Mr. Steve Thomas and Mr. Thompson Brown. Not pictured was some Spots and a Walleye. Secret Weapon Spinner Baits www.sectreweaponlures.com Prowler Soft Shad www.prowlerlures.com and a Rapala #10 X Rap www.rapala.com We covered a lot of water and fished a variety of areas to catch what we did. I had a good time with these guys and just wished the conditions was better.
